LOS ANGELES, April 4,2016 — OWNZONES, a content platform offering a streamline solution for content creators and owners seeking to distribute their programming in a very complex digital universe today announced the launch of the OWNZONES Media Network.
Featuring customized distribution and programming services, OWNZONES Media Network includes a range of mobile, over the top (OTT) and set top box services, including Flipps, a popular mobile app that delivers on-demand entertainment onto televisions, as part of the network. OWNZONES handles all backend and onboarding requirements, eliminating the need for content owners to reformat their programming for each platform. OWNZONES also joined T-Mobile’s popular video initiative Binge On, a service that’s fundamentally changing the way its customers on qualifying plans watch videos, allowing them to stream content without using up their high-speed data.
“Digital distribution is a complicated business and our goal is to simplify it for both creators and distributors so everyone benefits,” said Dan Goman, CEO OWNZONES. “Our OWNZONES Media Network offers media owners and creators access to major digital distribution platforms plus customization that will meet their business needs.”
In addition to distribution over its network, OWNZONES creates bespoke destination sites and apps for media companies. Magnolia Pictures worked with OWNZONES to create its DOX Channel, which launched earlier this week. Magnolia Pictures also distributes its content across the OWNZONES Media Network. Additionally, OWNZONES is working with British Pathe on a custom site, which it will power. As recently announced, E.W. Scripps also has a distribution agreement with OWNZONES.
“OWNZONES has been instrumental in helping us break new ground in reaching untapped digital audiences with the customized site they built for us at DOXchannel.com,” said Jeff Cuban, COO of Mark Cuban Companies Entertainment Properties. “Its powerful distribution program is unlike anything else, and can truly benefit any media company.”
The OWNZONES Media Network enables content owners to craft a distribution network that offers geographic, demographic and genre specificity. For example, media companies who have secured global license agreements for content that don’t cover every country can use the OWNZONES Media Network to fill in the missing territories.
