Nick Nelson is recognized for his commitment to promoting a strong company culture, innovative vision and collaborative team environment.
Nick Nelson, Chief Product Officer at OWNZONES has been chosen by Tech in Motion as a finalist for the “Best Tech Manager” category in this year’s annual Timmy Awards, which recognizes the top local movers and shakers in tech management.
The Best Tech Manager award honors tech managers who promote career growth, inspire innovation, employ a clear and communicated vision to produce a superior product, and who go above and beyond to ensure a great team culture.
Nelson and his team are the guiding force behind the innovation of OWNZONES’ growing suite of products and services. His team is focused on creating a better consumer-to-content experience by driving the product roadmap of a disruptive cloud content platform.
“In my opinion, the success of any company is dictated by the people who work there and the culture they create. I’m extremely proud of the team we have built, and I am honored to be recognized for our continued success,” said Nelson. “My goal is to create a culture of curiosity, innovation and honesty, enabling our company to execute its disruptive vision while attracting the best people to do it with.”
Before his time at OWNZONES, Nelson served as Head of Product Creative at Netflix from 2012 to 2016. During his tenure, he transformed its creative services department from a process-driven acquisition operation to a highly strategic, cross-functional team, focused on improving product creative and A/B tests while operating on a global scale.
“Nick brings a clear vision and a culture of collaboration and creativity to his team, which has been pivotal to our growth,” said Dan Goman, CEO of OWNZONES. “His dedication to building up his team and inspiring them to take risks has empowered OWNZONES to drive the evolution of the media supply chain and transform how content reaches consumers globally.”
Tech in Motion will announce the award winners at the 4th Annual LA Timmy Awards on Oct. 10, 2019. The local community will crown one “Community Favorite” winner by submitting their votes here through Sept. 27, while an expert panel of judges will determine the “Judge’s Choice” winner.
